Worship
Traditional in style. Relevant in Message. Transformative in the lives of all who gather.
We gather each Sunday Morning at 11 a.m. (10 a.m. Memorial Day through Labor Day) to Worship God. We bring our lives just as they are, and seek to be transformed in our lives to live more and more as followers of Jesus Christ. Our Worship time includes music from our pipe organ as well as from our choirs, a special time with a message just for the kids, congregational singing, a biblical and relevant Message, and times for prayer.
We have got a place for you!
Teaching
We believe that each one of us was created to be in a relationship with God. We also believe that God wants us to continue to learn and grow in our relationship with him. And so at FPC, we provide many opportunities for teaching and growing. We offer Sunday School classes for children and adults on Sunday Mornings (9:30-10:30 for adults & 10:00-10:45 for kids). We have a Tuesday Morning Men’s Bible Study (Tuesdays from 6:30-7:30 a.m. in the Parlor). And we have a group called Sermon Scripture Study that studies the Scripture passages for the upcoming Sunday Message (Mondays from 7:00-8:00 p.m. in the Pastor’s Office). We also hold a week-long Vacation Bible School each year, open to the community – a wonderful opportunity to teach about the love of God for all!
Connecting
Relationships matter – our relationship with God and with one another. We create opportunities throughout the year to build those relationships with one another. Here are just a few…
- Presbymates – monthly potluck dinner, held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month in the Fellowship Hall.
- Family Fall Fest – held on a Sunday afternoon each October, a time of food, games, hayrides and games.
- Bowling & Game Nights – pretty self-explanatory…
- Summer Concert – open to the community, free food, and great music by one of our local bands.
Reaching Out
We do not exist for ourselves, but instead we have a greater calling to reach and impact the lives of others. And sometimes we reach out by opening up our building to community groups. We are the host site for the Mighty Active Pack program, run by the United Way – packing backpacks of food for kids who might not otherwise have access to enough food over the weekends. Through a group of very dedicated individuals we operate the Children’s Clothing Bank at a donated room at the Library Annex. We financially support as well as volunteer at the Good Samaritan Food Pantry. We are a checkpoint for the Buck Fifty, helping to raise funds to encourage kids in our local schools to make the choice to be drug free. We do an annual Backpack & School Supply collection to be able to provide these need supplies to our local schools for them to distribute to kids in need. We participate in the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program, providing Christmas gifts to kids in our community in need. We are always seeking ways to be truly be, the hands and feet of Jesus!
